Meaning

Oh! Who could be marching in procession with such grandeur in the effulgent golden lotus vehicle?
Is it Indra who annihilated the demon Vala, with all this retinue?  If it is Indra, where are his sparkling thousand eyes?
Oh, friend Kalabhagate - having the gait of an elephant! or is it the refreshing Moon, who is roaming around the compassion? If so, where is the stain mark on him?
Or, is it Lor Siva, the beloved of Gauri? If so, where is the third eye?
Or, is it the Sun lord with his dazzling brilliance, tell me oh my dear?  If so, how is it that he is tranquil?
Oh, Taritten Mozhi Bale - the companion having a mellifluous voice! If he is the Kubera the lord of wealth, then he would be horribly deformed, so no doubt, he has to be Lord Nirajanabha.

Meaning

Nayika : Oh Kaminimani! Dear friend! Today why is your face sweating like this?  tell!!
Sakhi; I sweat due to the rays of the sun.

Nayika: Oh the one, with eyes like the young deer!  Why both your eyes are reddish?
Sakhi: Alas! May be due to the harsh words of the beloved one.

Nayika: Why is your hair which is always beautiful as dark clouds look untidy?
Sakhi: The fresh gentle breeze has made my hair untidy.

Nayika: Why the kunkuma on your forehead is disturbed?  Oh, kOkilavAni!
Sakhi: Oh PankajAkshi! my upper garment might have rubbed over it.

Nayika:  Tell me the reason as to why you are looking tired?
Sakhi: It is due to my wandering here and there.

Nayika:  Oh Manini! Whatever your spoke may be true.  But now listen to my words, Oh the one with the marvelous unparallel form! However it is, you must have united with the charming Sri Padmanabha and that is why there are marks on your lips!

One who is wearing such beautiful clothes that can outshine the glitter of gold.
One who removed the miseries of the king elephant and the one worshiped by Brahma.

One who destroyed the demon communities is the refuge of the hapless and whose feet help to cross the ocean of Samsara.
One who is holding the mountain in hand, who is relaxing on the serpent-king, and who arrests the worries of the celestials.
One whose form is like rain-laden clouds and has lotus-like feet.
One who is the father of Cupid, adorning the most attractive crown studded with rows of gems.
One who allays the fear of his devotees. May lord Padmanabha whose face resembles the moon protects us with joy.

Meaning

Oh Kamini! What will I do now?
Oh, Taruni! Please tell me, why is the delay in Sarasanabha coming here?
Cupid is shooting on me the blooming honey-soaked flowery arrows.  When will my beloved come and relieve me from this agony?  There is no reason why my beloved does not come fast before dawn to unite with me.  Oh, Sumukhi! oh, Mrdubhashini! Oh, Sakhi!
Oh, the parrot voiced!  This soft bed turns out to be hot embers for me. Alas!  The desire caused by the flowery arrow is insurmountable! Ho! Every day seems to be a decade; has he forgotten the amorous sport that he indulged with me?  What will be the plight of my desire?
Oh, Taralamizhi! Go to my beloved and tell my miseries.
